Biting

While I was laying in bed last night I started to laugh out loud. Ben asked me what the heck was going on and I told him that I realized how funny my trip to the grocery store was today. I hadn't taken the time to laugh about it because my boys were being such stinkers at the time. So this is how it started, I had a average size grocery list but I had both boys and its thanksgiving week so it's pretty busy. I load the boys in the cart so I don't have to worry about loosing anyone. Deakan immediately takes the back of the cart, that way he can see both sides of the isle. Maverick obviously wants to be in the same spot. There is enough room for both of them but Deakan did not want to scoot to one side and share the back of the cart. After a few "santa is watching" speeches he scooted over just enough to let mavericks two hands hold the back of the cart. I was ignoring the situation hoping they would get over it when maverick snapped. He bent over with his teeth out and bit what he thought was Deakan hand blocking his space in the cart. Maverick has never bitten anyone but Deakan, but he has bitten Deakan several times. After taking a tight squeeze with his teeth he realized that something was hurting his hand he began to scream and handed me the bitten hand to kiss. He had bitten his own hand thinking it was Deakan. I'm not sure if he put it together because he was in so much pain. I didn't get a chance to laugh about this At the grocery store because I was trying to calm him and move out of the way of other busy shoppers but it was by far the funniest thing I've seen all week.

Time out & Prayers

I had to put Deakan in time out tonight for taking things away from Maverik over and over again. So I took him to the rock wall and put his nose in the corner, the most uncomfortable corner in the house. Not two seconds later Maverik was right by his side with his nose to the rock wall.
I guess he felt guilty too.
We also had someone come over to look at our car that we have for sale tonight. They took if for a drive and then came in to negotiate. When they came in it was kinda chilly so the man and the woman both had their arms folded. Maverik came running over, noticed their folded arms and clasped his hands together and bowed his head. The woman started to laugh and point out how cute and sweet he was. He is the best baby prayer for about the first 10 seconds of prayers ever. After about 10 seconds he looses focus and moves on but it still makes me quite proud.

Brotherly Love

The other day Deakan was driving me nuts by putting his "woof" in my face and slinging it around at things so I finally had it and I grabbed the stuffed animal and I threw it across the room. Deakan fell to the floor in tears as I reprimanded him for swinging his woof at Mavers and I. Maverik was sitting on the couch with me reading books and when Deakan fell to the floor Maverik slid off the couch to comfort him. He patted his back and spoke a little gibrish but Deak just brushed him off. The next thing I know Maverik had gone into the other room and retrieved "woof." He brought it to Deakan and set it on his head and patted his back. I started to tear up. He is such a sweet little guy. He doesn't say many words but he knows exactly what is going on and he loves his big brother a ton.
